3 Reasons to Choose Klättermusen’s Heimdal 2.0 Beanie

To celebrate the new opening of Klättermusen’s flagship London store on the King’s Road, we thought we would write a review of one of our favourite items from their product line, the humble Heimdal 2.0 Beanie.

Klättermusen’s Heimdal 2.0 Beanie is perfect for winter trekking, day-to-day walks, and ski touring on less sunny days in the mountains. Keep it in your pocket, and throw it on when the temperature drops to be transformed into a Scandinavian hiking hero.

Classic, warm, and comfortable, this beanie does what it says on the tin, and we love the little tassel detail on top. Coming in six subdued and Scandinavian-inspired colors, they make us think of days spent picking cloudberries and bog blueberries on the North Cape of Sweden.

Lined with cotton and insulated with wool, this hat provides comfort and warmth, and its 6-panel construction provides a close fit atop your head. If, like me, you like wearing a hat in your tent at night and want a little cover from the morning light, you can fold down the brim for a little extra eye protection.

So, go on, treat yourself to a new hat this winter - and let it be the Heimdal Beanie 2.0.

What’s in a name? A little Norse mythology…

Heimdal is the name of a borough in the city of Trondheim, Norway; named after the Norse God, Heimdall (from Old Norse, ‘Heimdallr’). Son of Odin and nine mothers (who were all sisters to one another). Using his incredibly astute senses - particularly a heightened eyesight and sense of hearing - Heimdall’s role was to keep watch for imposters, invaders and attacks on the dwelling of Himinbjörg. Other characteristics Heimdall is known for are his foreknowledge, emerald teeth, his resounding horn (‘Gjallarhorn’), and gold-maned horse called ‘Gulltoppr’.
